Fantasy Football Weather Warning

Latest Weather Warning Stories

Watching the Skies: Week 8

Looking around the NFL I see a few game-time lows in the forties. That means we're getting close to regular snow on football Sunday and a frozen tundra in Green Bay isn't too far off.

Most of the weather today is clear, but there are a few trouble spots.

Minnesota at Green Bay: It's not quite cold enough for snow but as the game wears on it's supposed to drop down into the low forties with a 30 percent chance of rain. Both Aaron Rodgers and Brett Favre know how to deal with any weather that Lambeau Field can throw their way. But, I'd watch carefully the Pro Bowl running back who's nursing a knee injury. You have to start Adrian Peterson, but on a cold, wet field you will be hoping that he doesn't tweak anything.

Watching the Skies: Week 7

Tom BradyI don't think we're going to see any snow around the NFL today -- it didn't slow down Tom Brady anyway. We will, however, have two wet spots to deal with. Every other locale is either going to be good weather or protected by a dome.

San Diego at Kansas City: It should be dry for most of the game, but towards the late part of the afternoon there's a 50 percent chance of rain. There won't be a significant portion of the game interrupted by the weather so don't worry about making any fantasy football adjustments.

Watching the Skies: Week 6

Fall is slowly turning into the milder parts of winter as some areas of the country are starting to see snow. It's rain, however, that's going to affect a few NFL games on Sunday -- especially in the northeast.

Kansas City at Washington: It's going to rain all night from the mid-Atlantic region all the way up to the northeast. FedEx Field is going to get all that rain on Saturday night and Sunday morning and the forecast drops to a 50% chance of the rain continuing at game-time. Not that either of these teams live by massive aerial attacks, but the ball is going to be slick on Sunday so the running game may be leaned on more.

Watching the Skies: A Mostly Dry Week 4

The $352 million Reliant Stadium was the first facility in the NFL to be built with a retractable roof. They may need it to close Sunday as there is a 50% chance of rain at kickoff after thunderstorms all night. There is also a small chance of rain in New Orleans -- but we all know about the Superdome.

Since the weather won't be a problem in Houston or New Orleans, let's look around the league and see where trouble may pop up.

Watching the Skies: Nasty in Northeast

It's going to rain all night up and down the east coast. In some places it's supposed to stop in time for kickoff around the NFL. And in other places it may keep raining all day.

Let's take a look at some the games which could be affected.

Atlanta at New England: Very rarely is anything absolutely guaranteed. But, after a 50% possibility of rain throughout the night in New England things will turn ugly. Starting at 11:00 AM ET the weather forecast calls for a 100% chance of rain -- lasting through most of the game. This will be Atlanta's first game outside of a dome so it's probably going to effect them more than the Patriots.

Watching the Skies: Sloppy Week 2 Around the Southeast

Thankfully we're in a dome today in Atlanta or everything would be soaked. We're almost ready to start building an ark, it's been raining so much -- but Matty Ice and Jake Delhomme will have dry hands and a dry field to work with.

Let's take a look around the rest of the NFL.

Arizona at Jacksonville: There's a 40% chance of rain in Jacksonville at kickoff, but it's going to get ugly at around 3:00 PM ET. There is an 80% chance of thunderstorms to kick up at 3:00 and if passing attacks haven't been hindered already from rain, they surely will be at this point. If Kurt Warner is your quarterback he's probably your QB1. Unless you have a stellar backup throwing in a great matchup, you should probably run with Warner. David Garrard should be avoided today -- but I could have said that without the inclement weather warning as well.

Watching the Skies: Relatively Dry Week

Nothing is worse then finding out after the fact that your QB1 is playing in a bunch of sloppy rain which will greatly deter his ability to throw the ball or his receivers chances of catching anything. That's why we're going to take a quick trip around the NFL and see if there is any weather to worry about.

There seem to be only three trouble spots around the country, but one of them is in New Orleans, and we all know they are domed down there. So, let's talk about the other two places where rain may muck things up.
