We're back. It's "Run, Ricky, Run!" Week here at Fantasy FanHouse, as we witnessed Ricky Williams thrust himself into the ranks of other must-start running backs. First, Ronnie Brown went down for the season, next Ricky provided fantasy owners with a three-touchdown monster performance. Tom Herrera and Matt Snyder discuss much more, though. We talk about possible gifts for those who have been underachieving in fantasy (akin to the positive pregnancy test that seemed to have jump-started LaDainian Tomlinson), major injury fallout and, of course, our Starting Six Pack for the week. Injuries to Watch: Week 11

Whether it's torn, sprained, broken or just needs to be taped, Injuries to Watch will keep you up to date on injuries around the NFL and how they'll affect your fantasy football team.

Quarterback

o. Ben Roethlisberger, Steelers - Roethlisberger is not listed on the injury report, but he sat out parts of practice on Thursday with his elbow wrapped. He is expected to play on Sunday, but questions of a sore arm have definitely surfaced.

o. Brett Favre, Vikings - Favre was limited on Thursday with groin problems and a hip injury but is expected to play on Sunday.

o. Kyle Orton, Broncos - Orton missed practice on Thursday with Chris Simms taking the reps with the first-team. Orton is making progress, but his ankle injury is causing his status for Sunday to remain uncertain.

Running Back

o. Cedric Benson, Bengals - On Friday morning Benson said that his status still remained as a game-time decision. He hasn't practiced all week.

o. Jamal Lewis, Browns - Lewis was limited again on Thursday with an ankle injury, but he is expected to play on Sunday. Keep an eye on Chris Jennings who has been performing well in practice and could start challenging Lewis for carries in the Brown backfield.

o. Ahmad Bradshaw, Giants - Bradshaw practiced on Thursday, but on a limited basis. He will play on Sunday against Atlanta, but he'll likely see his touches reduced as Danny Ware will be in on passing downs.

o. Reggie Bush, Saints - Bush has had swelling in his left knee all week and hasn't practiced. The Saints are hoping that he'll be able to practice on Friday. Bush is questionable for Week 11 against Tampa Bay.

o. Clinton Portis, Redskins - Portis has been ruled out for Week 11. He still hasn't recovered from his concussion.

o. Correll Buckhalter, Broncos - Buckhalter was limited on Wednesday but did not practice at all on Thursday due to a knee injury. He is questionable for Sunday's games against San Diego.

o. Michael Turner, Falcons - Turner did not practice on Thursday, but still hasn't been ruled out for Sunday against the Giants.

o. Jerious Norwood, Falcons - Norwood was working out on one of the side-fields during practice on Thursday. His status for Sunday is unknown, but if he does play it likely won't be to carry a full workload.

Wide Receiver

o. Anthony Gonzalez, Colts - Still not fully recovered from arthroscopic knee surgery, Gonzalez will miss, at least, two more starts. He's been ruled out for Week 11.

o. Mike Wallace, Steelers - Wallace was sick on Wednesday, missing practice. He returned on Thursday and is expected to play on Sunday against a weak Chiefs secondary.

o. Joshua Cribbs, Browns - Cribbs returned to practice on Thursday from a neck injury, but he was limited. He should play on Sunday, but is only valuable in leagues that award points for return yardage.

o. Roddy White, Falcons - White practiced on Thursday, but was limited. He'll play on Sunday against the Giants.

o. Lance Moore, Saints - Moore hasn't practiced since Week 8 with his high-ankle sprain and may not play on Sunday against the Buccaneers. Robert Meachem will see the extra touches if Moore cannot go.

o. Justin Gage, Titans - Gage did not practice on Thursday with a bad back and is not expected to play on Monday.

o. Bernard Berrian, Vikings - Berrian was limited in practice on Thursday with a hamstring injury. He is expected to play on Sunday though.

o. Steve Breaston, Cardinals - Breaston was limited on Thursday with a sire knee but is expected to play on Sunday.

o. Jacoby Jones, Texans - Jones has a calf injury and was very limited in practice on Thursday. He is listed as day-to-day and has an extra 24 hours to heal as the Texans play on Monday night.

Tight End

o. Todd Heap, Ravens - Heap did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday due to a chest injury he sustained on Monday night. The coaching staff still feels like Heap will be able to play on Sunday.

Individual Defensive Player

o. Troy Polamalu, Steelers - Polamalu hasn't practiced all week because of his knee injury and has been ruled out for their Week 11 game against Kansas City.

Fantasy Football Cut-N-Go: Fitzpatrick Named Starting Quarterback in Buffalo

Cut-N-Go is Fantasy Football FanHouse's weekday roundup of the NFL news with fantasy football impact.

To say this week in Buffalo has been tumultuous would be an understatement. Trent Edwards was told that he had lost his starting job to Ryan Fitzpatrick right before head coach Dick Jauron was fired. The next bit of information gave Edwards new hope as interim head coach Perry Fewell wanted to wait until Wednesday to make a decision. Brian Galliford of Buffalo Rumblings wrote on Wednesday that Fewell had made the decision to go with Fitzpatrick.

Ryan Fitzpatrick is taking first-team reps at quarterback in Perry Fewell's first practice as interim head coach of the Buffalo Bills. Fewell confirmed this fact after practice. That bit of news confirms an NFL.com report from Wednesday - prior to the firing of Dick Jauron - that Fitzpatrick would be the club's starter.

Mark Gaughan of The Buffalo News says that many of the receivers are very happy about this decision, including Terrell Owens, who gave Fitzpatrick a ringing endorsement.

"I think Ryan, No. 1, is a veteran," Owens said. "He has a lot more experience. There are some situations where he'll be able to buy time with that experience. There will be some times where he can assess the defense and really take some shots down the field. We're looking forward to the opportunity with Ryan. Obviously he was 2-1 before the bye week when he was in there. Personally I felt like it was his job to lose. But again, there are things that are out of our control."

Lee Evans was also supportive of Fitzpatrick. "I think some of the things that Fitz does are really good," Evans said. "When he played before, he stepped up and made some big plays. So I think it'll help. We have a lot of confidence in him. I'm excited to see him play."

This could give a small bump in value to Evans and Owens but not enough to make them anything other than a FLEX option for Week 11. If Fitzpatrick does start working some magic in Buffalo that Edwards was unable to perform, well, then we can take a look at sliding the receiver tandem up into WR2 territory. But, that's not a given by any stretch of the imagination.

Other Fantasy Football Notes

o. Greg Cote of The Miami Herald confirms the news that Ronnie Brown has been placed on the injured list and will miss the rest of the season. This is a huge blow to the Dolphins and to a great number of fantasy football teams. However, it makes Ricky Williams uber-valuable now.

o. JaMarcus Russell is out as the Oakland Raiders starting quarterback says David White of the San Francisco Chronicle. Bruce Gradkowski takes over and forces me to ask, "What took the Raiders so long?"

o. Michael Turner missed practice on Wednesday, but hasn't ruled himself out for Sunday. Jerious Norwood didn't practice either, but worked out on one of the side-fields at Flowery Branch. I feel that both are long-shots to play against the Giants, who give up a ton of rushing touchdowns. That could make Jason Snelling, the de facto starter at running back, a good Week 11 play.

o. According to Charles Chandler and David Scott, who cover the Carolina Panthers for the Charlotte Observer, DeAngelo Williams did not practice on Wednesday. They also say that head coach John Fox claims Williams was just resting, even though he is listed as questionable for Thursday night's game.

o. Inactive for seven of the Giants' first nine games, Ramses Barden might not seem like a fantasy football play you should know about. But Mike Garafolo of The Star-Ledger says head coach Tom Coughlin thinks that Barden could become a red-zone target for Eli Manning very soon.

Fantasy Football Cut-N-Go: Injuries Provide Rushing Opportunities

Making the most of an opportunity is crucial for any athlete, no matter the sport. As Week 11 games approach, bumps and bruises have turned into full-blown, shut-down injuries -- thrusting backup players into starting roles. There are a few of these situations at the running back position this week. These can have major fantasy football implications. Just as in real sports, you need to take advantage of these opportunities to help your fantasy team.

According to Armando Salguero of The Miami Herald, the Dolphins have ruled Ronnie Brown out for Thursday night's game.

Running back Ricky Williams, expected to start for the Dolphins at running back because Brown is out, agreed to speak to the media for the first time in several weeks today. The reason he agreed is because he was told by the Dolphins if he did not cooperate with the media, he risked being fined.

Williams, who splits carries with Brown, is already a top-15 fantasy running back. Imagine how much more valuable he'll be while getting the full workload of carries. He's a solid RB1 this week against a Carolina run defense that ranks 25th in the NFL.

Geoff Mosher of The News Journal says that LeSean McCoy has stepped up and needs to continue to grow as a runner since Brian Westbrook is still having tests done after another concussion.

With Brian Westbrook out for at least a few weeks, and maybe the rest of the season, the Eagles need to speed up rookie LeSean McCoy's learning curve. He's shown tremendous promise in Westbrook's absence, leading the team in rushing and averaging 4.1 yard per carry, along with explosion and sharp cut-back ability. Now that he's the focal point of the rushing attack, the coaches need to get him going early.

McCoy is an interesting low-end RB2 option this week as the Eagles travel to Chicago and face the 21st-ranked Bears rush defense.

Other Fantasy Football Notes

o. Kent Babb of The Kansas City Star reports that Dwayne Bowe has been suspended for four games for violating the league's substance abuse policy. Chris Chambers will see a considerable amount of action now but still remains a low-end WR3.

o. Early in the day, Jason La Canfora of the NFL Network reported that Trent Edwards had lost his job and Ryan Fitzpatrick would start in his place for Week 11. Shortly after, head coach Dick Jauron was fired. Now, the starting quarterback position is up in the air until Wednesday, says Mark Ludwiczak of CBS Sports.

o. Reggie Bush was incredibly involved in the Saints win over St. Louis in Week 10 according to Jeff Duncan of The Times-Picayune. Bush did give way to Pierre Thomas and Mike Bell in the second half, but head coach Sean Payton says he's got to find a way to get Bush on the field more often.

o. According to the Houston Chronicle, the trio of runners in the Texans backfield may have just become a quartet. Arian Foster has been promoted from the practice squad to help on special teams and may be considered in the running game too.

o. Add Ladell Betts to the above list of running backs that are making good on opportunities created from injuries. He's doing such a good job that Dan Steinberg of The Washington Post says Clinton Portis isn't in a hurry to get back on the field. Portis feels the Redskins are in good hands with Betts.

Fantasy Football Cut-N-Go: Maurice Jones-Drew Takes Knee, Apolgizes Later

Cut-N-Go is Fantasy Football FanHouse's weekday roundup of the NFL news with fantasy football impact.

Maurice Jones-Drew owes me six points. In fact, he owes a whole lot of fantasy football owners a touchdown after kneeling on the one-yard line instead of scoring a go-ahead touchdown against the New York Jets.

With under two minutes left in the game, the Jets had no timeouts, a one-point lead and the Jacksonville Jaguars driving in the red zone. The Jets decided to let Jones-Drew score so they would have plenty of time for a game-winning drive of their own. Toni Monkovic of The New York Times gives Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio a ton of credit for foiling that plan.

"Maurice Jones-Drew did the unselfish thing at the end," Del Rio said. "I had talked to him on the sidelines and told him that when he popped free to stop on the 1, take the air out of this game and let Josh Scobee win it with essentially an extra-point try."

As Jones-Drew approached the goal line for an easy score against the Jets, he took a knee at the 1-yard line. Jacksonville then ran seconds off the clock and won with a short field goal on the last play. But the move wasn't for the faint of heart. The Jaguars were behind by a point. Had the hold been fumbled, had the kick been shanked, Del Rio would have been roasted on a spit of criticism.

The best part about the entire situation -- forget that this was an incredible heads-up football play -- is that Jones-Drew felt bad after the game and apologized to his fantasy football owners.

Feel better with the knowledge that Jones-Drew not only took a knee one yard before scoring a touchdown that could have vaulted your fantasy team to victory, he also kept six points from his fantasy football team as the Jaguars running back owns himself in a league.

The fact that we're all smiles and sunshine is reflected on Jones-Drew and his willingness to apologize for his actions, even though he was told not to score. The scary, hypothetical question remains: What would we be saying if he scored on Sunday and later said, "I needed the touchdown to seal my fantasy victory"?

Other Fantasy Football Notes

o. Jerry McDonald of The Oakland Tribune says that Tom Cable is unsure whether JaMarcus Russell is still the starting quarterback in Oakland. Some reports are saying a decision won't be made until Wednesday.

o. Brandon Jacobs may be on pace to rush for similar yardage as he did in 2008, but he's doing so with many more carries. His efficiency is down and Mike Garafolo of The Star-Ledger says that it could be due to the types of plays Jacobs is being asked to run.

o. Adam Caplan of Scout with FoxSports.com says we won't see Brian Westbrook for some time, maybe not even again in 2009.

o. Lee Rasizer of CBS Sports says that Knowshon Moreno is back on the top of the depth chart in Denver. He is the starting running back, not Correll Buckhalter.

o. The extent of the high-ankle sprain of Michael Turner won't be known until he tests it a bit more. If he cannot play, look for Jason Snelling to get the carries for the Falcons unless Jerious Norwood, who's been out for five games with a hip injury, becomes healthy enough to play. If both Norwood and Snelling are available, they may split carries.

o. Carlos Frias of The Palm Beach Post says the Dolphins are completely comfortable using Ricky Williams as an every-down back if Ronnie Brown cannot play. You should be, too. Get Williams into your starting lineup at RB2 or FLEX.

Damage Control: Brian Westbrook May Not Play Again This Season

Did the injury bug hit your fantasy football team like it was a car windshield moving at 100 MPH? If so, it may be time to do some Damage Control.

Quarterback

o. Kyle Orton, Broncos - Orton sat out the second half on Sunday with an ankle injury. He'll be tested early this week and Chris Simms will take a lot of snaps with the first team as we wait to see how severe Orton's injury is.

Running Back

o. Ronnie Brown, Dolphins - Brown limped off of the field during the third quarter of Sunday's game. X-rays were negative, but the MRI results have not yet been seen. Brown is believed to have a severe ankle sprain, and unfortunately for the Dolphins, he may not be ready to play in Thursday's Week 11 game. Look for a large dose of Ricky Williams.

o. Brian Westbrook, Eagles - Westbrook was knocked out of the game on Sunday in the fourth quarter with another concussion. His season may be in jeopardy.

o. Julius Jones, Seahawks - Jones left Sunday's game with a chest injury. Turns out he has a broken rib and bleeding in his lung. He stayed in a Phoenix hospital while the rest of his team returned home. This injury looks to be serious enough to cost Jones a few games of missed time. Justin Forsett will get the carries while Jones is gone.

o. Michael Turner, Falcons - Turner left Sunday's game with an ankle sprain and will have tests on Monday to find out how badly he injured his right ankle. If it's a high-ankle sprain, Turner could miss a few games.

o. Cedric Benson, Bengals - Benson suffered a strained hip flexor on Sunday and will rest early in the week in hopes to play in Week 11.

Individual Defensive Player

o. Julius Peppers, Panthers - Peppers played in Week 10 with a heavily-taped hand which was classified by John Fox as a "messed up hand". It's been revealed that Peppers' hand is broken and he played through the pain on Sunday but did not record a tackle.

o. Tracy Porter, Saints - Porter left Sunday's game with an injured knee and will undergo an MRI on Monday to reveal the severity. It is feared that the starting cornerback will be lost for the season.

o. Mike Vrabel, Chiefs - Vrabel left Sunday's game with a knee injury and walked out of the locker room after the game with a brace on his knee. He is considered questionable for Week 11.

o. Albert Haynesworth, Redskins - Haynesworth sprained his left ankle in the second half of Sunday's game. He thinks he'll be fine, but watch his progress at practice this week.

o. Troy Polamalu, Steelers - Polamalu was sent to the hospital for an MRI on his left knee on Sunday. No information is known yet, but Polamalu thinks that he can come back this season from the injury.

Quarterback

o. Jason Campbell, Redskins - Campbell left the Redskins Week 9 game twice with injuries. His ankle injury caused him to only practice on Wednesday in a limited capacity.

o. Matt Hasselbeck, Seahawks - Hasslebeck was limited in practice on Wednesday with a host of injuries. The quarterback is just banged up due to poor pass protection. He'll play on Sunday.

o. Matthew Stafford, Lions - Stafford was limited in practice on Wednesday and says he is still learning to trust his knee which hasn't completely healed yet. He's expected to play on Sunday.

o. Brett Favre, Vikings - Favre was limited in practice on Wednesday with a hip injury. People his age are having hips replaced not playing in the NFL. He's tough and you should expect him to play on Sunday.

o. Aaron Rodgers, Packers - Rodgers was limited in practice on Wednesday with foot issues. He's going to play on Sunday.

Running Back

o. DeAngelo Williams, Panthers - Williams is listed as day-to-day with a knee injury. The running back rarely sits out at practice, so keep a close eye on this.

o. Clinton Portis, Redskins - Portis is still suffering from a concussion and likely will miss action in Week 10.

o. LaDainian Tomlinson, Chargers - Tomlinson missed practice on Wednesday due to a bruised hip. His absence seemed more precautionary than anything. Coaches hope he'll practice today -- as do fantasy owners.

o. Ladell Betts, Redskins - Betts was unable to practice on Wednesday due to an ankle injury. Watch him throughout the rest of the week as he needs to be healthy enough to play as Clinton Portis likely will not.

o. LenDale White, Titans - White was help out of practice on Wednesday with an illness. He should be good to go on Sunday, but likely won't help your fantasy team as he's seeing fewer carries of late.

o. Brian Westbrook, Eagles - Westbrook was help out of practice on Wednesday, likely due to the Eagles practicing inside on turf. Head coach Andy Reid said he'll practice on Thursday.

o. Ahmad Bradshaw, Giants - Bradshaw was unable to practice on Wednesday with his foot injury but did do rehab work in the practice area. His status for Week 11 is unknown.

Wide Receiver

o. Brandon Marshall, Broncos - Marshall sat out of practice on Wednesday with a back injury. It is unknown whether or not he'll be able to play on Sunday.

o. Michael Clayton, Buccaneers - I've seen injury reports listing Clayton's wrist as an issue and his knee. Be careful with him this week as he missed practice already on Wednesday.

o. Lance Moore, Saints - Moore missed practice on Wednesday, which is becoming a habit. His ankle injury raises doubts about his playing time on Sunday.

o. Chris Chambers, Chiefs - Chambers was limited in practice after tweaking his foot in last Sunday's game. Watch his progress this week to make sure he can handle football duties on Sunday.

o. Roddy White, Falcons - White was limited in practice on Wednesday with a knee injury. He'll likely play on Sunday but is facing a tough matchup like his Week 9 game against the Redskins.

o. Steve Breaston, Cardinals - Breaston was limited in practice on Wednesday due to his knee, but will play on Sunday.

o. Justin Gage, Titans - Gage missed practice on Wednesday due to a back injury and hasn't been medically cleared as of yet to play in Week 10. If he's unable to go, expect Kenny Britt to see extra action.

o. Bernard Berrian, Vikings - Berrian as limited in practice on Wednesday as he's still trying to fully recover from his hamstring injury. He's rested from the Vikings bye week and will play on Sunday.

o. Isaac Bruce, 49ers - Mike Singletary has confirmed that Bruce will likely not play on Thursday night. This is good news for Jason Hill, who caught two touchdown passes from Alex Smith in Week 9.

o. Antonio Bryant, Buccaneers - Bryant missed practice due to his knee which caused him to marked inactive last week. Until he's proven healthy, he shouldn't be on your fantasy radar.

o. Kevin Curtis, Eagles - Curtis has been ruled out again for Week 10 with a knee injury.

o. Marques Colston, Saints - Colston was held out of practice on Wednesday but does not have swine flu. He is expected back on Thursday.

o. Terrell Owens, Bills - Owens missed practice on Wednesday with an undisclosed injury. If he's unable to play on Sunday, Josh Reed will see extra action.

o. Hakeem Nicks, Giants - Nicks missed practice on Wednesday but rode the exercise bike and did a little rehab. His status is unknown for Week 11.

Tight End

o. Antonio Gates, Chargers - Gates missed practice on Wednesday but hopes to be able to go on Thursday. He says that his foot soreness is nothing to worry about.

o. Anthony Fasano, Dolphins - Fasano was limited on Wednesday with a hip injury, but will play on Sunday. But, will he really produce enough to help your fantasy team? Only in three-tight end leagues.

o. Jermichael Finley, Packers - Finley missed practice on Wednesday and hasn't practiced in three weeks. It's unknown whether or not he'll be able to play on Sunday.

Damage Control: Clinton Portis Likely to Miss Week 10

Quarterback

o. Matt Hasselbeck, Seahawks - Hasselbeck revealed that his shoulder was sore after throwing 51 passes on Sunday. He even banged it up a bit in the first quarter. He'll be given Wednesday off but expects to play in Week 10.

o. Jason Campbell, Redskins - Campbell mildly sprained his ankle against the Falcons on Sunday but is expected to be fine for his Week 10 matchup.

Running Back

o. Glen Coffee, 49ers - Coffee suffered a concussion during a kick return in Week 9. Since the 49ers play on Thursday there isn't enough time to medically clear the running back. He's already been ruled out for Week 10.

o. Brandon Jacobs, Giants - Jacobs injured his knee on Sunday causing him to miss snaps. The coaching staff has downplayed this injury saying that it isn't a big deal. He should play against Atlanta in Week 11, after their bye week.

o. Frank Gore, 49ers - Gore was poked in the eye and suffered an eye contusion on Sunday. He stayed in the game even though his eye was swollen and should be able to play in Week 10.

o. Clinton Portis, Redskins - Portis suffered a concussion on Sunday against the Falcons and was forced to leave the game. He is considered doubtful to play in Week 10.

Wide Receiver

o. Chris Henry, Bengals - Henry broke two bones in his left forearm and will be lost for the season.

o. Austin Collie, Colts - Collie felt a tingling sensation in his neck during the fourth quarter but said on Monday that he is "perfectly fine" He should play in Week 10.

o. Andre Johnson, Texans - Johnson was hit in the back and had to leave the game for a few plays. He returned and he'll have a Week 10 bye week to fully recover.

o. Justin Gage, Titans - Gage took a hard fall on Sunday and was just a bit shook up. He's sore now as if, as Jeff Fisher put it, "he fell off of a ladder". He should play in Week 10.

Kicker

o. Lawrence Tynes, Giants - Tynes injured his knee in a failed field goal attempt on Sunday. He should be fine for Week 11 after he rests during the Giants bye week.

Individual Defensive Player

o. Aaron Kampman, Packers - Kampman suffered a concussion on the fourth play of the game but still played through the injury. His status for Week 10 is uncertain.

o. Thomas Davis, Panthers - The Panthers are being tight-lipped concerning Davis' knee injury, but rumors are that it is serious.

o. Julius Peppers, Panthers - Peppers had an extremely swollen hand on Monday and said he just fell on it. He'll play in Week 10 against Atlanta.

Cut-N-Go is Fantasy Football FanHouse's weekday roundup of the NFL news with fantasy football impact.

The Kansas City Chiefs have finally bid farewell to Larry Johnson. The troubled RB who was once famed and beloved in many a fantasy circle is now simply an after thought. Aside from his horrid play of the field, his off-field antics and foul mouthed tweets were simply enough for the Chiefs to pull the plug. He was cranking up to the tune of less than 3.0 yards per carry on the season. And let's just be honest who cares, because it's been years since Johnson has been relevant.

This news should come as little surprise. However, a funny thing happens away from the reality side of the story. That's right, the fantasy football world begins to turn on it's axis with visions of glory and/or delusions that somehow Johnson being set free could be a blessing in disguise. Where will LJ end up? Is he worth nabbing off the waiver wire? Oh man, the many possibilities, but don't get ahead of yourself. First off, he'll need to audition and then he'll need to prove he's still worthy of a shot. With the season growing towards the end...how excited can you really be about LJ the free agent?

Other Fantasy Football Notes
o. This whole RB situation for the Texans ... well, it's simply a mess. Who do you trust more? Steve Slaton or Ryan Moats? Well, many Slaton owners were led to believe that this was just a message being sent from his head coach. Why panic, because after all, earth would certainly bring Ryan Moats a wake-up call this weekend. Well, it kinda-sorta didn't happen. Moats received a majority of the carries, scored a TD, but also coughed up a fumble. Slaton managed to score a TD himself, but there wasn't much feel of encouragement that Slaton was/is going to get his job back anytime soon. Thank God the Texans have a bye week coming up and maybe, just maybe, this mess will shake out. Doubt it though.

o. You probably want to hit the waiver wire ASAP and grab yourself Ladell Betts. He took over the workhorse duties for a concussed Clinton Portis. And you have to feel that Portis won't be returning anytime soon -- that's just how concussions work these days. Besides, Portis should feel zero sense of urgency to come back to a team going nowhere. Let me refresh your memory back to 2006 when Betts closed the season strong as a solid waiver wire sensation that probably helped win a few titles.

o. Anquan Boldin is not a happy camper for the Cardinals. He worked out before the game and expected to play against the Bears, but was a late scratch. Of course, nobody told Boldin about this and he is pretty upset. Ah yes, another case of an angry WR despite the fact that his team just won a big road game. OK, I'm giving Boldin more benefit of the doubt. He's not a diva, he just really, really wanted to play. This should blow over soon enough.

o. Cue up that open roster spot, because Trent Edwards is close to coming back. Yes, I kid, I kid. Regardless, it's worth pointing out for anyone who stills owns and/or plays the Bills' skilled offensive players. I pose this question for you to think about: Does this help or hurt the Bills moving forward? Hmm.

o. The Bengals have lost Chris Henry for the season. Henry broke his arm during the win against the Ravens on Sunday. It's certainly not the biggest fantasy news, but Henry was obtaining a more active role in the offense and certainly had the upside to be a lift for the Bengals down the stretch.

o. From the "do we really care" department, Michael Vick is hinting he's not having much fun being on the Eagles. Let the rumors begin about Vick to the Bills.

o. Aside from the likes of Brees, Brady and Manning, is there a hotter fantasy QB than Tony Romo right now? In his last 4 games he's averaging 306 passing yards per game and 2.25 touchdowns. In that time he's thrown only one INT. Not bad for a guy who was left for dead earlier this season.

Fantasy Football Cut-N-Go: Return of Megatron This Weekend?

Cut-N-Go is Fantasy Football FanHouse's weekday roundup of the NFL news with fantasy football impact.

It would appear that at long last our national fantasy football nightmare is over and Calvin Johnson is going to play this weekend. OK, let's be fair and emphasize the word "appears." Nothing is certain until I actually see Johnson in uniform and jogging onto the field. However, the notion and possibility of his return is probably the best news many Megatron owners such as myself have heard in quite sometime.

It's been far too long to not have this ubber stud in our line-ups. And trust me, this is speaking from a guy who owns Johnson in every single league. I drafted him in the first round every time around. He was who I wanted and this is not what I was expecting. Take the good with the bad, but I'm expecting all good if he finally plays again this weekend. And of course, it should also be noted he's the only player on the field that gives the Lions a chance to win a football game.

As a sidebar to this same story, Kevin Smith will most likely suit up and play for the Lions as well.

Other Fantasy Football Notes.
o. Roddy White returned to practice for the Falcons from a semi-mysterious knee injury. Of course, not to force panic upon anyone, but the words "limited" were circled around his Friday activities. As always, the suggestion would be to monitor this closely come Sunday morning.

o. Both Anquan Boldin and Devin Hester appear iffy for this weekends showdown between the Cardinals and the Bears. However, both insist they will play. Hester actually practiced on Friday, so you can kinda lean on that positive. However, for Boldin you have to bless the man for trying, but he's been hobbling around in the past few games. You wonder if a game off might help?

o. For those holding out hope that Anthony Gonzalez could still make up for lost time with a strong finish, better change that plan. It's the breakout season that just wasn't meant to be. Gonzalez will undergo surgery on his injured knee after a setback in practice and now he's out for at least another 2-3 weeks. Why not just call it a season already A-Gonz? If you haven't already, it's time to cut him loose from your fantasy team.

o. Not that it's much of reason for excitement, but Darren McFadden will be back after the Raiders' bye week. His role of course, we haven't a clue. His value in fantasy football ... well, not good.

o. We all know you shouldn't tick Tom Brady off before facing him on Sunday. Yet, Joey Porter seems to think his play can back up his talk when he proclaimed that Tom Brady is a protected man or has his own set of rules. That said, I'd expect Brady repays Porter and his Dolphins mates with a thrashing this week like only he can deliver. The over/under on TD's is at (4.5) and the over is getting hammered. Yeah, it's gonna be nice to start Brady this week.

o. Lastly, you should be pretty safe with Aaron Rodgers and Donald Driver as both are listed as probable this weekend, but did manage to practice Friday.

Colts' Injuries are Fantasy Football Gains

This weekend's AFC South showdown appeared, at the beginning of the week, to be one of those strength vs. strength matchups. The Colts have the NFL's seventh-ranked pass defense and they have only allowed three passing touchdowns all season (making them the stingiest in the NFL). The Houston Texans are the NFL's third-best passing team and have thrown 16 touchdown passes in eight games.

Things this week, have, uh, changed a bit.

We have learned the Colts will be missing three of their top five defensive backs. Kelvin Hayden is out for a month while both Bob Sanders and Marlin Jackson will miss the remainder of the season. It should be noted that the Colts have been able to survive without these guys all on different occasions, but to lose all three in one week is a big blow.

One thing these injuries don't impact is the Colts' pass rush. Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis are relentless in pursuit of the quarterback from the outside and only four teams have more sacks than the Colts (20) this season. If Houston can find a way to protect Matt Schaub, though, there will be holes in the Indy secondary.

Expect lots of zone, but Jerraud Powers will likely get the assignment of guarding Andre Johnson any time the Colts play man coverage. Though he's started seven games this season -- due to the massive injuries to the defensive backfield -- Powers is only 5-foot-9 and a rookie. He's not equipped to deal with the know-how of 'Dre -- much less his athleticism or 6-foot-3 frame.

Opposite Powers, rookie Jacob Lacey will make his second start of the season. The Colts will rotate in Tim Jennings and T.J. Rushing. Simply put: safeties Melvin Bullitt and Antoine Bethea will need to provide lots of support in the pass defense. In turn, this should also open up running lanes, as the Colts' front seven usually relies on safety help to effectively stop the run.

On the opposite side of the football, I do not believe the Texans' mediocre pass defense can do anything to stop Peyton Manning and the NFL's top passing offense.

Add it up and we have a veritable fantasy football paradise. The scoreboard operator is going to be busy in Indy this weekend, thus, your fleaflicker live scoreboard should as well -- so long as you own some Colts and Texans.

I expect Manning and Schaub to both be among the top five quarterbacks.

Johnson and Reggie Wayne could easily be the top two receivers.

Dallas Clark should always be started anyway.

I'd get Austin Collie and Kevin Walter in as WR3 or flex plays. If you are desperate for a bye-week fill-in, take a look at Pierre Garcon and then Jacoby Jones.

You already know I love a bounce-back game for Steve Slaton, but with the safeties in Indy needing to lend so much more help to the pass defense, I like him even more. Ryan Moats is a viable flex play in deep leagues as well. For the Colts, they won't find running lanes easy, but Joseph Addai is still an RB2 as he'll find good enough work through the air.

As I said, it's a whole lotta fantasy football fun in Indy this Sunday. Enjoy.

Fantasy Football Cut-N-Go: Roy Williams Jealous of Miles Austin?

You can take Terrell Owens out of Dallas, but apparently you can't take the immature and disruptive conduct, that Owens was known for, out of the Cowboys locker room.

Clarence E. Hill Jr.of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram knows that Roy Williams is frustrated with his numbers as a receiver this season. And Williams is quick to tell everyone who will listen that it's not all his fault.

But he wants everyone to know it's not all on him -- especially when passes are high or behind him.

"It makes me look like crap," Williams said. "The only thing that keeps me going is cause I now I'm not. I know what I am. I know what people are trying to make me be. I know I'm not that."

And if throwing Tony Romo under the bus wasn't bad enough, Williams had to make sure that he tried to alienate as many members of the offensive first string as he could.

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk wrote about the continuation of Williams' tirade, claiming that he had a little more tact that Owens when T.O. spouted off last season.

"It's not even funny. Not even close... I'm the No. 1 receiver. But things are just going No. 2's way."

"He gets the ball thrown correctly his way," Williams said. "I'm stretching and falling and doing everything. Everybody [else] who's been here's balls are there. Our footballs [from Romo to Williams] are everywhere right now."

Williams may have been a little more diplomatic with his knife in the back of Romo and Miles Austin (Dallas' No. 2 wide receiver) but there is still no good that will come from lashing out. Dallas is on a three game winning streak and Austin and Romo are big parts of that success. If Williams wants to be revered as a No. 1 receiver, something that he's not even close to becoming for Dallas or for fantasy football GM's, extra work on the practice field and in the weight room may be in order instead of crybaby antics.

Other Fantasy Football Notes
o. I'm not sure what's more deserving of a yawn. The fact that Cleveland actually will play in a Monday Night Football game or the fact that we still have to talk about Eric Mangini and his inability to stick with a decision at quarterback. Mary Kay Cabot of The Plain Dealer says that Mangini won't name his starter at quarterback until early next week. The Browns are currently in their bye week but play Baltimore on Monday night in Week 10.

o. David Moore of the Dallas Morning News is the provider of music to the ears of fantasy football owners who have held on to Marion Barber. According to Moore, head coach Wade Phillips raved about Barber after practice on Wednesday saying, "More and more, I think we'll see the Marion Barber that we know and love."

o. Even though the 49ers offensive line is shuffling a bit, Matt Maiocco of the Santa Rosa Press Democrat says Vernon Davis will not stay back to help in pass protection. Davis has exploded onto the scene this season and his pass-catching skills are too important to San Francisco to take him out of his route running duties.

o. Josh Looney, who is the Kansas City Chiefs Insider, says that newly acquired Chris Chambers could see action this week.

o. Nate Burleson leads the Seahawks in receptions and receiving yards this season and has sporadically returned punts, but Danny O'Neil of The Seattle Times says that he'll take over full-time punt return duties starting in Week 9. This is great news if you're in a league that awards fantasy points for return yards.

o. The San Diego Union-Tribune is reporting that center Nick Hardwick will return to the offensive line for San Diego in Week 9. This is great news for LaDainian Tomlinson.

Injuries to Watch: Week 9

Whether it's torn, sprained, broken or just needs to be taped, Injuries to Watch will keep you up to date on injuries around the NFL and how they'll affect your fantasy football team.

Quarterback

o. Aaron Rodgers, Packers - Rodgers sat out of practice on Wednesday with sprained right foot and sore toe on his left foot. He's not expected to participate in practice until Friday, but he is expected to play on Sunday.

o. Matthew Stafford, Lions - Stafford practiced on Wednesday, but only as a limited participant. His right knee is banged up.

o. Matt Hasselbeck, Seahawks - Hasselbeck was very limited in practice on Wednesday with his rib injury. He only took a few snaps and will probably rest more throughout the week to prepare for Sunday.

Running Back

o. Willie Parker, Steelers - Parker is sick and sitting out of practice but says there is no way he is missing the game on Monday night.

o. Sammy Morris, Patriots - Morris did not participate in practice on Wednesday. It is not known whether or not he'll be available on Sunday.

o. LeSean McCoy, Eagles - McCoy has a severe case of the flu and did not practice on Wednesday. Watch the illness as the week progresses.

o. Kevin Smith, Lions - Smith sat out practice on Wednesday after he re-injured his shoulder last week.

o. Ahmad Bradshaw, Giants - Just like every Wednesday practice in recent memory, Bradshaw was given the day off to rest his ankle and foot. His participation on Sunday is in question, but it has been each of the last few weeks and he's always played.

o. Brian Westbrook, Eagles - Westbrook has been cleared to practice after receiving a concussion two weeks ago. He practiced in full and is expected to play on Sunday.

o. Jonathan Stewart, Panthers - Stewart sat out of practice on Wednesday with an Achilles injury. He normally sits out on Wednesday's, so this is nothing new. He should be able to play on Sunday.

Wide Receiver

o. Calvin Johnson, Lions - Johnson did practice on Wednesday but was limited with the knee injury that has kept him from playing recently. The coaching staff is cautiously optimistic that Johnson will be able to play on Sunday.

o. Randy Moss, Patriots - Moss was given the entire bye week off from practice but returned and is participating fully this week. He will start on Sunday.

o. Donald Driver, Packers - Driver sat out of practice on Wednesday with a neck stinger, but he is expected to play on Sunday.

o. Anthony Gonzalez, Colts - We've heard that November is the month that Gonzalez will return to action, we just don't know what week in November. He did not practice on Wednesday and it's looking like Week 9 will not be the week he starts.

o. Anquan Boldin, Cardinals - The coaching staff has listed Boldin as day-to-day, but the receiver missed practice on Wednesday and may not be able to play on Sunday.

o. Roddy White, Falcons - The Falcons were not required to release an injury report today since they did not practice, but the team estimated that White would not have practiced due to his knee injury.

o. Mario Manningham, Giants - Manningham was limited in practice on Wednesday with a shoulder injury. He says that he's feeling better but it's not known whether he'll be able to play on Sunday.

o. Lance Moore, Saints - Moore has been icing his ankle all week and is in a walking boot. He did not practice on Wednesday but hopes that he'll heal quickly enough to play on Sunday.

o. Muhsin Muhammad, Panthers - Muhammad was not able to practice on Wednesday due to a knee injury. His status for Sunday is unknown at this time.

Tight End

o. Jermichael Finley, Packers - Finley sat out of practice on Wednesday with a knee injury and is not expected to play on Sunday.

o. Kevin Boss, Giants - Boss did practice on Wednesday on a limited basis and should be able to play on Sunday.

o. Greg Olsen, Bears - Olsen was limited in practice on Wednesday but will likely play on Sunday.

Damage Control: Owen Daniels Suffers Season-Ending Injury

Did the injury bug hit your fantasy football team like it was a car windshield moving at 100 MPH? If so, it may be time to do some Damage Control.

Quarterback

o. Aaron Rodgers, Packers - Rodgers has been sacked 31 times this season to lead the NFL. On Sunday he sprained his toe. His opposite foot was already injured, so watch to see how well he's moving around this week. I would expect him to play through these foot injuries.

o. Jake Delhomme, Panthers - Delhomme sustained a chest injury against Arizona on Sunday but said on Monday that he feels fine. There's no reason to think that he won't be ready for Week 9.

o. Matt Hasselbeck, Seahawks - Hasselbeck spent time on Sunday being looked at by trainers on the sidelines but never missed one play. He said on Monday that he felt fine and should miss no time.

o. Brett Favre, Vikings - Favre may have played with a pulled groin, he may have been sick -- nobody truly knows. He definitely took some hits on Sunday. Watch practice for issues with any groin injury. He may be limited this week, but until Favre sits on the sideline for a series, I'm not buying that he's too hurt to play.

Running Back

o. Kevin Smith, Lions - Smith injured his shoulder on Sunday and left the game, not to return. Head coach Jim Schwartz said that he could have played if the team really needed him though. If he's unable to go next week or even if he's just banged up and limited, Maurice Morris will see his role expanded.

Wide Receiver

o. Anquan Boldin, Cardinals - Boldin tweaked his right ankle on Sunday but said on Monday that he doesn't feel any worse than before he aggravated the injury. He also said that as long as he could run, he would play. He doesn't want to take any time off.

o. Donald Driver, Packers - Driver suffered a shoulder injury on Sunday, but was able to return to the game. His injury was just a stinger and he should be fine for practice this week.

o. Danny Amendola, Rams - Amendola left Sunday's game with a concussion. He will be tested on Tuesday to see how long the head injury will keep him sidelined.

o. Domenik Hixon, Giants - Hixon suffered a hip flexor on Sunday. The wide receiver is sore right now but how much he'll be able to practice this week won't be determined until Wednesday when he tests his ability to move.

o. Lance Moore, Saints - Moore left Monday night's game with a shin bruise and did not return. He's not expected to miss any time.

Tight End

o. Owen Daniels, Texans - Daniels tore a ligament in his knee and will miss the rest of the 2009 season. He will undergo surgery to repair the damage. It's time to find a replacement for what may have been the best fantasy tight end in football.

o. Kevin Boss, Giants - An Eagles defensive back fell on the back of Boss' leg, injuring his ankle in the third quarter. Boss was able to return in the fourth quarter to contribute. He should be fine, but don't cement his name onto your roster until he practices fully.

o. Randy McMichael, Rams - McMichael left Sunday's game with a rib injury but x-rays came back negative. His chest is sore, but he should be able to play in the Rams next game, which won't be until Week 10 as St. Louis has entered their bye week.

Fantasy Football Cut-N-Go: Steve Slaton May Lose Starting Job

If you came away from your fantasy football draft with Steve Slaton, you probably used a late first-round or early second-round pick on the Texans running back and had visions of another 1,200-plus yard rushing campaign. Things aren't going as planned for you or the Houston running back.

After losing his fifth fumble of the season, Slaton was benched on Sunday in favor of Ryan Moats, who ran for 126 yards and three touchdowns. Now, says Dale Robertson of the Houston Chronicle, Slaton will have to battle for his starting job.

Benched in favor of Ryan Moats, Slaton must be wondering if he'll get his starting job back. The previously little-used Moats wasn't in a sharing mood against the Bills. He rushed for 126 yards and three fourth-quarter touchdowns as the Texans overwhelmed the Bills 31-10.

"Ryan took advantage of the situation," coach Gary Kubiak said, although he demurred when asked if Moats is the new starter. "We'll go to next week. We'll see."

Adam Caplan, who is a writer for Scout with FoxSports.com, says that all three running backs for Houston will get playing time. With that declaration we have yet another running back-by-committee situation brewing in the NFL. This news is not good for any fantasy football GM who owns Slaton.

No decision on who will start at running back yet for the #Texans. Head coach Gary Kubiak said all three backs will play.

Other Fantasy Football Notes
o. With Owen Daniels being gone for the season, John McClain of the Houston Chronicle thinks Kevin Walter will benefit the most, statistically speaking. McClain predicts a Walter breakout soon: "Watch him emerge big time starting with the Colts game."

o. You wouldn't expect this kind of news after your team puts up 30 points, but the Chicago Bears have decided to pare back the offensive playbook for Jay Cutler. Brad Biggs of the Chicago Sun-Times thinks the Bears offense hasn't done a good job of anything this season except getting the ball to Devin Hester. Will a reduction in the playbook help bring up Cutler's fantasy value?

o. Paul Schwartz of the New York Post says that Eli Manning refuses to blame his poor throwing lately on his injured foot. "That's not an excuse I can fall on," he said. "It's (foot) not bothering me at all." What is bothering fantasy football owners are the six interceptions that Manning has thrown over the past three games -- all losses for the Giants. Manning is no longer a must-start option at quarterback for your fantasy team.

o. If you have either of the Cleveland Browns quarterbacks on your fantasy football roster, for any reason other than a joke, then you're crazy. Head coach Eric Mangini is, yet again, undecided as to whether Brady Quinn or Derek Anderson should be the starting quarterback says Tony Grossi of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

o. Steven Jackson finally got into the end zone in Week 8 and has averaged 141.5 yards per game over the last two weeks. Steve Korte of the Belleville News-Democrat says that a lot of Jackson's present and future success stems from the improved play of his offensive line.

o. As if Vikings rookie wide receiver Percy Harvin wasn't scoring enough points. You folks in fantasy football leagues that count return yards will be happy to hear that Sean Jensen of The Pioneer Press says Harvin may start returning punts as well.

Fantasy Football Cut-N-Go: Prince Hakeem Closing in on Fantasy Royalty

Cut-N-Go is Fantasy Football FanHouse's weekday roundup of the NFL news with fantasy football impact.

The news just keeps getting better for Hakeem Nicks owners. We've been touting Nicks since day one as one the potential big surprises this season at wide receiver and he proved us right, having now scored a touchdown in four consecutive games. After moving into the starting lineup shortly after returning from his early-season injury, he now looks poised to move ahead of Mario Manningham for the No. 2 spot.

While Manningham currently holds down the gig, Newsday reports that he left practice right after stretching in warmups. The story lacks clarity as to whether Manningham left due to his lingering chest injury or because of a lineup change, but Nicks assumed the starting role in Friday's walk-throughs. Regardless of the reason, this bodes very well for Nicks owners who already have a gem on their hands.

Not only has Nicks outplayed Manningham in recent weeks, but he also appears to be gaining favor from quarterback Eli Manning over Steve Smith. Hence, look for Nicks to see an even greater number of targets this week against the Eagles. It will be interesting to see how the Giants come out after two straight losses following the 5-0 start, but I'd guess they'll be gunning with Nicks being the primary beneficiary.

Other Fantasy Notes

o. The Associated Press reports that Jerricho Cotchery looks ready to play this week against Miami after missing three weeks due to a hamstring injury. While Cotchery got off to a tremendous start with rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez, the addition and reemergence of Braylon Edwards make him a risky play this week. Still, the Dolphins secondary presents a promising matchup, so consider Cotchery a worthy start for a No. 3 wide receiver.

o. While the consensus report looked doubtful regarding Darren McFadden's return this weekend given the Raiders have their bye week coming in Week 9, the Contra Costa Times spotted McFadden participating in practice on Friday sporting an elastic brace on his scoped knee. We'll have to see what coach Tom Cable says after practice, but if you are super desperate, McFadden's chances look better than expected to play this week. Given the Raiders' record, they are not exactly in a position to be resting guys for later in the season.

o. The fellas at Bleacher Report think it might be time to pick up Vince Young off the waiver wire. Personally, I never liked Vince Young for fantasy purposes even in his prime, but it's hard not to take interest in this story. For one thing, the Titans have decent weapons, so it's hard to imagine Young wouldn't provide an upgrade, but more so it'll be good to see Young back in action after his very public fall from grace. Who doesn't like a good comeback saga?

o. Our fantasy buddies over at Sports Illustrated's Fantasy Clicks take a self-deprecating look at their top preseason draft picks -- and help bail you out if you listened to them. Man what I wouldn't do to take advantage of that Westbrook trade. (I swear, my Internet froze).

o. The Washington Post previews FX's fantasy football sitcom The League with horrible results. This apparently will not end well as the NJ Star-Ledger also claims the show "will leave no one happy." I'm getting excited just to see how bad it becomes before getting the axe.

o. The boys at the New York Times' Fifth Down blog are not excited about the Alex Smith start this week against the Colts. I couldn't agree more. Have you ever seen Alex Smith play?

Injuries to Watch: Week 8

Whether it's torn, sprained, broken or just needs to be taped, Injuries to Watch will keep you up to date on injuries around the NFL and how they'll affect your fantasy football team.

Quarterback

o. Trent Edwards, Bills - Edwards has been ruled out for Week 8. He participated in practice on Wednesday but only in a limited capacity. He's not recovering as quickly from the concussion as the medical staff would like, even though he's been cleared to play. Ryan Fitzpatrick will start in his place.

o. Matthew Stafford, Lions - Stafford practiced fully on Tuesday but was limited on Wednesday with his knee injury. The fact that he practiced two days in a row is a step in the right direction, but it's still not known whether or not he'll be able to start on Sunday.

o. Daunte Culpepper, Lions - Culpepper practiced on Tuesday and Wednesday and his hamstring injury seems better. The Lions won't announce a starter for Week 8 until later in the week.

o. Aaron Rodgers, Packers - Rodgers was limited in practice on Wednesday with a foot injury. He is listed as questionable for their game on Sunday against Minnesota.

o. Brett Favre, Vikings - Favre was limited in practice on Wednesday with a hip injury but it's tough to see a situation where he wouldn't play on Sunday against Green bay.

o. Matt Hasselbeck, Seahawks - Hasselbeck did not practice on Wednesday due to a rib injury but head coach Jim Mora said that Hasselbeck will be at full-strength by Sunday.

Running Back

o. Donald Brown, Colts - As much as he wants to be at practice, Brown was held out on Wednesday with a left shoulder injury. Brown says he will practice this week but Bill Polian says he's not likely to play on Sunday.

o. Darren McFadden, Raiders - McFadden's knee is not ready to return to action. He'll miss his fourth straight game on Sunday, which is good news for those of you who have handcuffed McFadden with Justin Fargas.

o. Brian Westbrook, Eagles - Westbrook was held out of practice on Wednesday but still hasn't been ruled out of Sunday's game. That's crazy considering that Westbrook cannot remember whether he was knocked out of the game on a pass or run play.

o. LenDale White, Titans - White's knee injury kept him from practicing on Wednesday and it's unlikely, even though the Titans haven't said as much, that he'll play on Sunday.

o. Ahmad Bradshaw, Giants - Bradshaw made a trip to North Carolina to visit a foot specialist and get an opinion on his nagging foot/ankle injury. He usually spends Wednesday and Thursday in a protective boot and practices on Friday. He's played each week since tweaking the ankle in Week 3. He's listed as questionable at this point.

o. Jonathan Stewart, Panthers - Stewart is expected to be limited by his Achilles injury all season. He missed practice on Wednesday but is expected to practice on a limited basis on Thursday.

Wide Receiver

o. Anquan Boldin, Cardinals - Boldin practiced on Wednesday even though his ankle is still tender. He's been playing through the pain for a while now. Expect him to be on the field on Sunday.

o. Calvin Johnson, Lions - Johnson was not able to practice on Wednesday making it very shaky that he'll play on Sunday. He is listed as questionable on the injury report.

o. Andre Johnson, Texans - Johnson didn't practice on Wednesday due to a chest injury but is expected to play on Sunday -- he almost guaranteed as much.

o. Anthony Gonzalez, Colts - Gonzalez is expected to get back to practice this week for the first time since damaging ligaments in his left knee during the season opener. It's questionable as to whether he'll be able to play on Sunday.

o. Reggie Wayne, Colts - Wayne was not able to practice on Wednesday but the team expects him to only miss a day or two and to be able to play on Sunday.

o. Bernard Berrian, Vikings - Berrian missed practice on Wednesday with a hamstring injury. He is listed as questionable for Week 8.

o. Jerricho Cotchery, Jets - Cotchery returned to practice on Wednesday, participated on a limited basis and said that he will be ready to play on Sunday.

o. DeSean Jackson, Eagles - Andy Reid told reporters that Jackson would be ok, even though he missed practice on Wednesday. Expect him to play on Sunday.

o. Kevin Curtis, Eagles - With his knee still not healed, Curtis has been ruled out for Week 8. he will not play on Sunday.

o. Muhsin Muhammad, Panthers - Muhammad missed practice on Wednesday and is listed as day-to-day. Dwayne Jarrett is itching to get into the action if Muhammad can't play on Sunday.

Tight End

o. Kevin Boss, Giants - Even though he took a huge helmet-to-helmet hit on Sunday and blacked out, Boss was not on the injury report and could play in Week 8.

Fantasy Football Cut-N-Go: Jamaal Charles and Kolby Smith Split Carries

Cut-N-Go is Fantasy Football FanHouse's weekday roundup of the NFL news with fantasy football impact.

You had to be crazy not to see this coming. And whether you think the penalty was too stiff or not harsh enough for the crime, just know that Larry Johnson is being punished. In a release from the Kansas City Chiefs, we find out that Johnson will receive a two-game suspension.

The Kansas City Chiefs have suspended RB Larry Johnson for Conduct Detrimental to the Club effective immediately. Johnson will not be permitted to participate in any team activities or be on team premises until Monday, November 9th. The Chiefs will have no further comment on Johnson's status at this time.

This punishment wasn't as harsh as I predicted, but since I have no say in the matter let's focus on what the Chiefs are doing to make sure their rushing attack doesn't suffer.

Kent Babb of The Kansas City Star says that Jamaal Charles, as expected, is taking about half the reps at practice with the first team. But Kolby Smith, who is currently on the Physically Unable to Perform list, has been taking the other repetitions.

Jamaal Charles and Kolby Smith split most of the practice time Wednesday as the Chiefs' running backs, both of them trying to prove they're ready for a more significant role.

Charles caught passes during practice, and Smith tested his surgically repaired knee at the team's indoor facility. Both appeared capable of handling a greater load.

It looks like Smith will be activated from the PUP list to play in Week 9, when the Chiefs come off of their bye week. If you are in an insanely large, very competitive fantasy football league, you can look to sign him. If not, don't waste your time and effort on Smith.

Charles is the back to go with if you're looking for help on the waiver wire. He'll definitely earn some points in Week 9, and if the two-week separation of Johnson from the Chiefs is extended, you'll already have Charles in place and won't miss a beat.

Other Fantasy Football Notes

o. Roy Cummings of the Tampa Tribune says that the coaching staff is sometimes in awe of what Josh Freeman can do while throwing the football. Freeman is a classic pocket-passer and the Buccaneers coaches think that the move to the rookie at quarterback will pay off in the future. Did I mention that Tampa Bay announced that Freeman was their new starting quarterback?

o. I'm unsure whether this is a vote of confidence for Jake Delhomme or the sad truth that the Carolina Panthers don't have a better option, but David Scott of the Charlotte Observer says that Delhomme will remain the starting quarterback even though he's thrown more than three times the interceptions this year as he has touchdown passes.

o. According to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, Dolphins coach Tony Sparano won't let us know about Ted Ginn Jr.'s job security -- although he's leading to choosing his starting wide receivers on the basis of how well they practice this week. This is bad news for Ginn, who has only caught five passes in the last three games.

o. Ahman Green has already passed Brandon Jackson on the Green Bay depth chart says Greg A. Bedard of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Green will be the Packers' third-down back and the No. 2 option behind Ryan Grant.

o. Danny O'Neil of The Seattle Times thinks that John Carlson has been blocking way too much to be an effective fantasy tight end. The offensive line in Seattle is down to third-string options at tackle which is forcing Carlson to stay back to help protect Matt Hasselbeck.
