Frank GoreCut-N-Go is Fantasy Football FanHouse's weekday roundup of the NFL news with fantasy football impact.

For you fantasy GM's out there with Frank Gore as your featured back, I feel for you. Gore hasn't scored a touchdown since Week 10 and over the last two games he's only carried the ball a total of 23 times for 93 yards.

The 49ers running back hasn't been hampered by injuries lately, John Crumpacker of the San Francisco Chronicle says that San Francisco has seen paradigm shift in the play-calling on offense.
What satisfied the coach Sunday was a 49ers offense that passed the ball on 41 of 61 plays and lined up in a spread/shotgun formation on 34 occasions in a 20-3 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars at Candlestick Park.

So much for Singletary's fulminations before the season about the 49ers imposing their will on the other team by running the ball with the force of hammer on anvil.
There's even worse news here -- and this is going to hurt not only Gore owners, but everyone who has a member of the 49ers offense on their fantasy football team. Moving forward you're not going to know whether San Francisco will be a passing team or a running team.
In the course of 11 games this season, Mike Singletary has evolved from a man with firm convictions on what an NFL offense should look like to a generalist happy with whatever works on a given day.

"I would say right now I think we have more playmakers in the passing game," Singletary said. "We have a lot of playmakers we can throw the ball to. ... The best thing that happened this week is I saw leadership on the offensive side of the ball. 'Coach, this is what I think would work. Can we do more spread? Can we put it on us, the receivers?' Not that we're going to lose our minds and throw on every down. To me, that's leadership."

Going to the spread on offense and getting after the quarterback on defense was the formula the 49ers used Sunday. No telling what the formula might be next week in Seattle.
Other Fantasy Football Notes

• If you're still holding out hope for Chris Cooley to return from his leg injury, and have kept him on your fantasy roster, you can go ahead and cut the Redskins tight end. Jason Reid of The Washington Post announced today that Washington has placed Cooley on the injured reserve list, ending his season.

• Those of you who have loved Justin Forsett and his 368 rushing with four touchdowns over the last three games had better prepare for life without the new fantasy gem. Julius Jones may return from injury this week and Danny O'Neill of the Seattle Times says he'll be placed back with the first team as soon as he returns.

• Josh Looney of KCChiefs.com reports that Jamaal Charles is really starting to impress the coaching staff in Kansas City and could be setting himself up to stick around next season as the featured back.

Kevin Smith hasn't been able to flourish in the running game, even against defensive fronts that he should beat easily. Nicholas J. Cotsonika of the Detroit Free Press says that Jim Schwartz is disappointed in Smith, but may not have viable options to replace the back.

• It's amazing that Jake Delhomme was able to hide this until Monday, but John Fox told the media today that his quarterback broke his finger on Sunday. Backup quarterback Matt Moore will take the majority of the reps with the first team this week and Charles Chandler of the Charlotte Observer reports that this could be the beginning of the end of Delhomme's tenure with the Panthers.

LenDale White was a healthy scratch on Sunday and Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean says it was due to White being late for a walk-through on Saturday. Obviously, it was much easier for the Titans to place White on the inactive list as he's not been terribly effective this season as a third down or goal line option.
