Cut-N-Go is Fantasy Football FanHouse's weekday roundup of the NFL news with fantasy football impact.Have you wondered at all what's been going on with Jerome Harrison? He started bursting onto the scene in Week 3 as he ran for 52 yards on 16 carries. He followed that up in Week 4 by breaking the century mark -- rumbling for 121 on 29 carries. Harrison was beginning to look like a valuable fantasy running back.
Then over the next four weeks he averaged a little over five carries per game and 18.25 yards per game. Since Week 8 he hasn't touched the ball at all, even appearing on the inactive list last week. Tony Grossi of the Cleveland Plain Dealer says that Harrison and Eric Mangini had a sit-down to air out the differences. Things may be better now.
Harrison had a sit-down with Mangini this week and was in better spirits than a week ago, when he declined to speak for fear of "saying what I really think."He mentioned in open locker room that he was excited to get to play against the Bengals this weekend. That sounds like he's going to see some game action. Harrison is second on the team with 254 yards rushing this season and leads all running backs with a 3.7 yards per carry average. But, until he gets into the game and sees a serious amount of touches, he's best left off of your fantasy football team.
On Wednesday, Harrison said, "I know how I am when I'm sort of frustrated and angry. I will say things that I don't mean and that's not appropriate. And you all don't understand, there's life going on, football isn't the only thing that we're doing."
Of Mangini, he said, "I just had a real serious man-to-man conversation that needed to be had and we're on the same page. Matter of fact, we were always on the same page, just different paragraphs. We got there."
Other Fantasy Football Notes
• In Week 11, Michael Bush started at running back but only got four carries. Darren McFadden had six carries and Justin Fargas had eight. Tom Cable is running with the hot hand in Oakland and still refuses to name a starting running back, says Jerry McDonald of the Oakland Tribune.
• J. Michael Moore is the managing editor of AtlantaFalcons.com and sent out a tweet Wednesday about Jason Elam. Turns out Elam is still the kicker in Atlanta -- but it looks like he's on a very short leash.
• Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Inquirer says that even if Cedric Benson plays, and it looks like he will, Bernard Scott will have an increased role in the running game in Week 12.
• Michael Turner returned to practice today in Atlanta, but did so on a limited basis. Jason Butt of CBS Sports says that the Falcons are still in evaluation mode and have not determined if Turner will be able to play on Sunday.
• Just because you're in the game it doesn't mean you're a valuable fantasy asset. Devery Henderson played more snaps than any other receiver in Week 11 for the Saints but was only targeted once, according to Jeff Duncan of The Times-Picayune.
