Cut-N-Go is Fantasy Football FanHouse's weekday roundup of the NFL news with fantasy football impact. It's been a weekly crap-shoot trying to determine which New York Giant running back would perform better between Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs. Both have been dinged up and Bradshaw rarely practices more than once per week, but each rusher still trots out there and dutifully carries the ball each week.
Over the last four weeks Bradshaw has received 41.6% of the carries and 49.6% have gone to Jacobs. Their yardage has been a bit more varied as Bradshaw has rushed for 126 yards total and Jacobs 268 over those four games.
In the Giants' Week 12 matchup against Denver, fantasy football owners may not have to worry too much about determining which back will carry the ball more. Ohm Youngmisuk of the New York Daily News says Bradshaw may not play at all in Denver as he's injured his ankle.
Head coach Tom Coughlin just met with the media and said that RB Ahmad Bradshaw sprained his left ankle (the good ankle he had) and is not sure what Bradshaw's status will be for Denver. Bradshaw will not practice today and it doesn't sound good. With this game being played on Thanksgiving, Bradshaw might not have enough time on the short week to heal properly. This news definitely is good news for fantasy owners with Jacobs, who will likely handle all the duties other then third down situations. And for those of you with Bradshaw, it would be tough for me to insert him in any lineup even id he did suit up. I can't see a situation where he'd be running at 100% effectiveness.
"At the beginning, right after the game they thought he had an ankle sprain but evidently it is more severe than that so he is in a boot," Coughlin said.
Bradshaw had been wearing a boot during the week on his other ankle from an older injury for precautionary reasons.
Other Fantasy Football Notes
• Matt Dollinger at Colts.com says that the coaching staff attributes the recent success of Joseph Addai to a clean bill of health. Addai appears to get stronger as the game progresses. This news is great if you have Addai, bad if you were hoping that Donald Brown was going to break out soon.
• Steve Slaton was supposed to be the Texans' primary runner, but Chris Brown carried the ball 11 times -- Slaton only five. Drew Dougherty of HoustonTexans.com says the reason for that is that Brown plays clean football, limiting mistakes that seem to plague Slaton.
• Nick Scurfield of HoustonTexans.com says that Kris Brown was given a vote of confidence on Tuesday from head coach Gary Kubiak. Brown is still the kicker after missing a game-tying field goal in the final seconds of their Monday Night Football game. The same vote of confidence cannot be given to Jason Elam who found out on Tuesday that the Falcons were holding tryouts for his job.
• Randy Moss and Wes Welker are such great fantasy wideouts that the Patriots' No. 3 guy doesn't get a whole lot of press. Albert Breer of the Boston Globe says that Julian Edelman is splitting time now as the No. 3 guy in New England with Isaiah Stanback, thus killing any fantasy value that Edelman had.
• Do you own Ray Rice or Derrick Mason on your fantasy football team? If you do, Edward Lee of The Baltimore Sun says you've been a happy camper this season. Rice and Mason account for 46.1% of all the receptions made in Baltimore.
