Stash or Trash tells you whether a prospective fantasy football pickup (or drop) is worthy of your roster spot.
So, the Buffalo Bills finally won a division game, huh? And after that win, the poor SOBs who drafted Terrell Owens, Fred Jackson, Marshawn Lynch, Lee Evans and Trent Edwards all let out a collective "WOO-HOO!" in excitement over their monstrous offensive performance, right?
Wrong. Obviously. Only Evans was worth anything at all, and while he managed to score, he only improved his reception total to 16. Oh, and the worst news? He caught his touchdown from Ryan Fitzpatrick, who entered the game after Trent Edwards left with an injury. Or maybe that's good news; either way, there's a whole lotta trash that might need taking out in Buffalo.
Terrell Owens, WR, BUF -- You know what? Pretend that his name is Randy McWaiverson and that he's playing for one of the worst offensive teams in the league and that on the season (six games) he has 15 catches for 215 yards. Now that you've re-established who he is, do you even flinch at the prospect of him not staining your roster with his lack of productivity? Hell and no. You dump him immediately. I know it's not easy because of the name, but he's old, unhappy and he's not getting traded to a better situation after today. Verdict: Trash
Fred Jackson, RB, BUF -- Okay, you can't drop him yet. Just felt the need to address that for any owners who are getting frustrated by the fact that he was their only offensive weapon while Marshawn Lynch was gone -- a span in which saw them score 64 points -- and now suddenly they've scored 29 points in their last three games with Lynch back. Meanwhile, they've ignored the fact that Jackson is easily the most underused running back in the entire freaking NFL and that he should be catching 10 passes a game at very minimum, rushing attempts be darned. (THIS INCLUDES ME, in case you couldn't tell.) Verdict: Stash
Lee Evans, WR, BUF -- Just mentioning Evans here does two things. One, it makes me want to put my face into my coffee table, because I was convinced he was due for a bounce-back breakout year. (If that makes sense.) And two, it insults you because you probably should have dropped him weeks ago. Whatevs. On the bright side, at least Fitzpatrick targeted him for a touchdown. If you still own him, hold, and if you're in a larger league, I suppose you could make an upside play for him, although I'm a little confused myself as to what the upside is.
Verdict: Buffalo is a sad place for fantasy owners. Now, with that said, let's hit some other spots.
Jeremy Maclin, WR, PHI -- The Eagles rookie's time in the sun didn't last long; after his two-touchdown performance the week before, he laid an egg against the Raiders. Well, actually, that's not fair -- the Eagles offensive line laid the egg, and Maclin (among many others) paid the price. The good news is that he's still the No. 2 WR in Philly, having jumped Kevin Curtis before the game. He's a rookie, sure, but he's incredibly talented and Marty Mornhinweg would throw every down if he could, so you want to be patient. Verdict: StashGlen Coffee, RB, SF -- The news that Frank Gore will likely return in Week 7 has many a Coffee owner upset at the prospect of having to ditch the talented (albeit underperforming) rookie. However, given that the reason we're wondering about Coffee is a high ankle sprain for Gore, there's really no reason to give up on him this early in the season, what with the potential for future injury, at least as long as you're in a semi-deep league. Verdict: Stash
Mark Sanchez, QB, NYJ -- In a lot of cases, you're fine getting rid of Sanchez. Most of those cases involve single-QB leagues that aren't too deep (any single-QB leagues of 12 and under and he probably shouldn't be owned anyway). But what about deeper leagues? Well, yeah, he did throw five picks against Buffalo, but he's got Rex Ryan's support thus far, and even if the Jets keep struggling, I think you'll see Capt. Poise ride out the season. Hold him if you're in any league that values quarterbacks. Verdict: Stash
Jerricho Cotchery, WR, NYJ -- On the other hand, Cotchery saw a tremendous hit in value when Braylon Edwards came on board, no longer being Sanchez's No. 1 target (and remember, they're running the ball first anyway). Add in an injury that's limited him to one catch for four yards over the last two weeks, and you have to start wondering if he really is a must-start. If you're in a shallower league, you should probably cut bait, given that it might be Week 10 before you see any real production. Verdict: Trash

What about beast mode himself? Some1 in one of my leagues just dropped him, but since I signed some players off waivers recently they are "locked" the only options I have to drop if I wanted to sign Lynch before this week's games are Hasselbeck (my only back-up QB; I own Peyton), Bradshaw (I own chris johnson, DeAngelo, Greene and beanie), and Dwayne Bowe. *sigh* Should I drop any of those three to pick up Lynch or just wait it out and hope no one picks him up before me after this weekend's games?
