It's been said in his space on numerous occasions that the tight end position holds plenty of depth this season. The argument was to not panic if you missed out on any of the big names during the draft, because you'd find an equally serviceable option in the end. And if anything Week 1 simply enhanced the notion, with at least 11 of the top 20 projected tight ends going over 60 yards and 11 total TDs mixed in. That's pretty solid if you ask me. And so, this week we're gonna take the leap for Todd Heap. He was mentioned last week by R.J White as a sleeper for Week 1. Well, nobody should be sleeping this time, as he gets to face the Chargers who were simply awful against tight ends last season. And you may also recall that Zach Miller just throttled them on MNF. That said, Heap appears healthy and has a growing rapport with Joe Flacco. As for the rest of the rankings let's take a look.
1. Dallas Clark, IND at MIA
2. Tony Gonzalez, ATL vs. CAR
3. Chris Cooley, WAS vs. STL
4. John Carlson, SEA at SF
5. Jason Witten, DAL vs. NYG
6. Antonio Gates, SD vs. BAL
7. Zach Miller, OAK at KC
8. Todd Heap, BAL at SD
9. Dustin Keller, NYJ vs. NE
10. Owen Daniels, HOU at TEN
11. Kellen Winslow, TB at BUF
12. Visanthe Shiancoe, MIN at DET
13. Jeremy Shockey, NO at PHI
14. Greg Olsen, CHI vs. PIT
15. Brent Celek, PHI vs. NO
16. Heath Miller, PIT at CHI
17. Kevin Boss, NYG at DAL
18. Anthony Fasano, MIA vs. IND
19. Vernon Davis, SF vs. SEA
20. Tony Scheffler, DEN vs. CLE
21. Benjamin Watson, NE @ NYJ
22. Jermichael Finley, GB vs. CIN
23. Robert Royal, CLE @ DEN
24. Marcedes Lewis, JAC vs. ARI
25. Chase Coffman, CIN @ GB
26. Martellus Bennett, DAL vs. NYG
27. Bo Scaife*, TEN vs. HOU
28. Brandon Pettigrew, DET vs. MIN
29. Brad Cottam, KC vs. OAK
30. Desmond Clark, CHI vs. PIT
*Keep an eye on the injury report
• Dallas Clark leads the way in our tight end rankings based on the elevated role he figures to hold in the Colts' passing game. Manning has always turned to Clark with confidence, but he'll be primed to step up in the absence of a solid No. 2 wide receiver on board. Look for him to garner those looks and pay dividends against Miami on Monday night.
• There's no reason to get carried away with the two-TD performance from Ben Watson on MNF. Call it the right place at the right time. Brady will continue to exploit the matchups and spread the love. Until we see Watson consistently on par with big games, we can't bump him into the upper echelon ... yet.
• Food for thought: Chris Cooley gets to feast on the same Rams defense that was just dismantled by John Carlson.
• The name Jeremy Shockey is fantasy relevant for the first time since he and Tara Reid were an item. We aren't ready to 100% buy into Shockey, but you can't keep a decent option down in that offense.
• If you're looking for the big reach (which could be a home run or a major whiff), the call here would be to look at Fasano. He had a disastrous outing in Week 1, but should be able to bounce back against the Colts.
• Lastly, expect Greg Olsen and Jay Cutler to get on the same page this weekend. Not saying he's gonna go off against a tough Steelers defense, but he ain't gonna be stuffed with only one catch and very few pass targets.

That's really close, but I'd go Olsen. I don't know if Shockey is going to have back-to-back weeks with multiple TD's. The Saints will always spread it round. I think Cutler tries to get in sync with Olsen.
