The Broncos drafting Knowshon Moreno was undoubtedly a shock, considering it was with their first, and 12th overall, pick in the NFL Draft. And it's kind of a shame for fantasy players. That's because Moreno has a ton of talent, even if he's not a lock-down feature back. But he has nice hands, he has enough speed, and he can break off runs. Which would have made him a perfect fit for the Eagles or the Chargers (although the fantasy boost would have been delayed on both). Instead, he's headed to Denver to work under Josh McDaniels' scheme and alongside Kyle Orton.
Perhaps McDaniels, who used to work for a pretty good Patriots team, might have folks salivating over the prospect of turning Moreno into a dominating running back. One problem: who was the awesome back for those Patriots teams? Exactly -- players were good, not great, and certainly not dominant.
And now Moreno is dealing with Orton. It's an odd pick in real life and one you want to avoid in fantasy, unless you can get him at a steep discount.

As a Denver Bronco fan I admit this offseason has been a rollercoaster ride and that no one knows what the Broncos will be like until we see them on the field in 2 months. But my take is that they will have a better than average offseason and an improvement from the Cutler offense overall. Knowshon Moreno will be an important part in even making Kyle Orton better and taking off some of the pressure. One must remember that Kyle Orton's numbers were not bad and that was behind a very shaky Chicago O-line. His win/loss record was good too.
The big question mark this year, in my opinion, is still the defense and whether they can make the big changes that are put on them. If they can keep their opponents to less than 20 pts, I think Denver stands a very good chance of putting up a number of wins this season.
