The Arizona Cardinals, for years, have been "fantasy death." But recently, a resuscitation in the desert allowed the Cardinals to suddenly become valuable to fantasy owners. They drafted Beanie Wells of Ohio State in the first round on Saturday, and that's only more good news for fantasy owners.See, Wells was supposed to land in a situation that would involve him sharing carries. Instead, word on the street is that Edgerrin James will be released and, if that happens, Wells will find himself in a fantastic situation.
Injuries are a concern with Wells, but here's the good news: because the Cardinals pass so much, there's tons of room to run and he doesn't have to be a total workhorse. For further example, look at what Tim Hightower did last year, emerging as a fantasy stud.
So, presuming James is released, go ahead and pencil in Wells as "that guy" who you want to draft in the sixth to seventh round in a Matt Forte kind of way. He's got the talent, and if he stays healthy, he's a perfect RB3/Flex option that will be relatively cheap.
