Super Fantasy Football Reality Check: The Dust Is Settling and We Love DeAngelo

If you owned DeAngelo Williams all season -- and surrounded him with quality "teammates" -- the odds are pretty good you were still playing meaningful fantasy football this weekend. If you were, you enjoyed another off-the-charts fantasy night from DeAngelo. Seriously, four touchdowns in the Meadowlands against the Giants? This guy is just stupid studly. He's also a great example of why your league should have its championship in Week 16, because the Panthers' game next week is meaningless. He could easily see a drastic decrease in his workload.

On the opposite side of the spectrum we have Kurt Warner. The second-highest scoring passer for the entire season ended up being the biggest Brutus Boy of them all. In case you were counting -- and odds are, you were -- that was a 1.5 point performance yesterday. If your league still plays in Week 17, he should be due for a bounce-back at home against Seattle. The Cardinals really need some confidence at this point, so I bet they go all out, at least until they get a nice lead.

Other Reality Checks

- Brandon Jacobs was obviously never too badly injured. The Giants have really only played him when they needed him, which makes sense because you don't want to make the injury worse. Last night they needed him, and he came through with three touchdowns. Well, guess what? They don't need him in Week 17. They have wrapped up the top overall seed. They might try to win, but it's not going to be at the risk of injuring their battering ram. Derrick Ward is the pick there, and he's also a big-time stud.

- Philip Rivers is firing on all cylinders right now with three straight stellar outings. He's not going to see much resistance from the Broncos awful defense, and he's going to be at home. Look for a big Week 17 out of Philip as the Chargers squeak into the playoffs with their 8-8 record and Norv Turner saves his job.

- Matt Cassel -- didn't someone tell you to start him? -- is similar to Rivers. The conditions in Buffalo likely won't be too favorable, but were they yesterday?

- I hope you enjoyed David Garrard's solid night, because it ain't happening again. The Ravens need to win to 100 percent ensure their inclusion in the postseason, and it's in Baltimore. Garrard the Jags are going to be annihilated.

- Dallas Clark is the best tight end in fantasy football right now.

- Speaking of the Colts, that Colts/Titans game is going to be weird. Neither team really cares to win it. We'll likely see Jim Sorgi and Vince Young for most of the game. It's screaming "stay-away game" to nearly everyone involved from a fantasy spin. We'll sort everything out later in the week, but Chad Simpson and Quinton Ganther may be in the conversation for the most touches.

- I really, really like Chad Pennington in the Meadowlands to win the AFC East this week.
